ISLAMIC CENTER

The Oakland Islamic Center
The Oakland Islamic Center was founded over 30 years ago with the vision of creating a community for Muslims—primarily immigrants and new converts to Islam—as a place of worship and a source of belonging.
Over the years, the community has grown into a diverse congregation, welcoming worshippers from various backgrounds and walks of life. Today, it represents a true embodiment of Islam in a multicultural society, where Black, White, Asian, and Arab Muslims come together in unity to worship their Creator through the five daily prayers. The mosque remains open during these prayer times, serving as a constant reminder of our shared faith and our ultimate return to the Lord of all worlds.
We have also established a weekend Islamic school and now aspire to expand it into a full-time school system—offering a complete curriculum rooted in Islamic values and approved by the California state education system. To bring this vision to life, we need the financial support of the community to serve generations to come.
Salaam Alaikum, dear Brothers and Sisters.
